Counseling and Bodywork for Women
“There are times in life when we need support to help us navigate our way through challenges”

Counseling for Women

Many of the women I work with are in a life transition and or are experiencing trauma, PTSD and/or grief. Other clients are needing extra support exploring life purpose. Using an integrative wellness approach, I work with individuals on a deeply somatic level, supporting the innate wisdom and health of the body. My psychotherapeutic approach stems from a mind/body perspective and integrates Somatic, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Equine-Assisted Therapy, and can include EMDR. I often co-create an individual program involving a team approach, helping the client set up a wellness program that may include other health practitioners in the area, such as Naturopaths, Massage therapists, Chinese medical doctors and Nutritionists. I specialize in the following areas:

• Grief (miscarriage, stillborn, infant loss)
• Stress/Anxiety
• Life Transitions
• Exploring one’s life purpose
• Health Issues
• Chronic Injuries
Please note: If requested, Craniosacral therapy can be integrated into the sessions.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy? Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a relaxing practice that allows the body to heal itself. It involves a holistic, “whole-person” approach in working with the health of an individual, and encourages vitality and a sense of well-being. It is an effective form of treatment for a number of illnesses and nervous system issues, such as headaches, anxiety, insomnia, and stress. Biodynamical

Craniosacral Therapy is suitable for all ages, including babies, children, and the elderly. Clients are fully clothed during sessions. For more information please see: www.energyschool.com or About Erin.

Play Therapy and Counseling for Youth
“Supporting Children and the adults that care for them”

Play Therapy

What is Experiential Play Therapy?
Experiential Play Therapy, developed by Dr. Byron and Carol Norton, is a therapeutic process that allows children to explore their feelings, emotions and behaviors in a safe and trusting environment. It is through play that children express themselves. They play out their anger, fear, sadness, and frustration, emotions which are often times affecting their behavior. Younger children express themselves non-verbally, by attaching metaphoric and symbolic meaning to the toys they choose to play with. Parents are involved in the therapeutic process on a regular basis and will work together with the therapist to develop activities in the child’s daily life that will help support their social and emotional needs. Experiential Play therapy is an effective therapy for children who are experiencing the following:

• Divorce or separation
• Transition (i.e. a new sibling, new school, a move)
• Death or loss
• Trauma (physical, emotional, birth trauma)
• Social and emotional challenges
• Attachment Issues/Adoption

Counseling for youth:
I work with children and youth of all ages, using both play therapy and counseling, including working with horses. I serve to support the creative and innate wisdom in children and youth, while helping parents understand their child’s behavior and where it comes from. I specialize in the following areas:

• Highly gifted and Sensitive children
• The transition into adolescence
• Social and emotional issues
• Elementary, Middle and High School Girls Groups

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy

The horse/human relationship is a profound one. As intuitive beings, horses have the ability to sense and reflect our feelings and emotions, even when we are unaware of them in the moment. They can be grounding forces, teaching us about attachment, bonding and relationships.

In my work as an equine-assisted therapist, I support an individual’s experience with the horse(s). Whether you are an adolescent seeking something different than traditional therapy, or an adult working with issues such as anxiety, stress, trauma, and/or family challenges, equine-assisted psychotherapy can be a powerful tool for transformation and healing.
